Donald Trump called Kid Rock to ask if the Secret Service banned him from using strippers at victory rally before inauguration

Kid Rock said Donald Trump personally called him before a victory rally this week to find out if the Secret Service had banned him from having strippers in his performance.

The “All Summer Long” singer is one of the artists attending the inauguration ceremony in Washington, DC, ahead of the official inauguration ceremony today (January 20).

Before his performance, Kid Rock made a joke about how the Secret Service had banned him from using strippers on stage and it turns out the president-elect got it.

Speaking on Fox and friendsthe singer said: “Friday morning I got a call from the president and Melania and it was pretty mind blowing, I tried to leave him alone, he’s got a lot on his plate I think at the moment. »

He continued: “He called and he asked, ‘Did the Secret Service really tell you you couldn’t use strippers?’ ” To which he told the station he responded, “No sir, I was just joking. »

“Ah, that’s funny,” Trump responded, according to Kid Rock.

Kid Rock has been a longtime supporter of Trump’s political career, dating back to his first election victory in 2016. During the recent campaign, he continued to serve as a spokesperson for the Trump camp, attending several rallies to defend the candidate.

After Trump’s victory, the singer shared a message saying it was “not a time to celebrate,” and later met with the president-elect’s attorney general nominee, Pam Bondi, to lash out to the current state of the concert ticket industry.

He now joins Carrie Underwood, Billy Ray Cyrus, Nelly and Village People on the bill – the latter of whom already performed their hit “YMCA” earlier today (January 20).

Underwood is expected to be the musical guest artist at the main ceremony in which Trump will become the 47th president of the United States — and sing “America the Beautiful” on the steps of the U.S. Capitol.

Following backlash on social media, Whoopi Goldberg defended Underwood’s decision to perform at the event, but added that she would not watch.

The actor and chat show host has criticized Trump’s policies in the past – even refusing to say his name after his election victory.

Earlier this week, Village People spoke about their decision to perform at the inauguration and said they agreed because they believe “music should be played without regard to politics.” They also reminded that while this appearance “won’t please some of you,” they hope it “will help bring the country together after a tumultuous and divided campaign in which our favorite candidate lost.”

Nelly also responded to the backlash, calling it an “honor” to perform at the ceremony. “I respect the office. It doesn’t matter who is in power. In the same way that our brothers and sisters go to war to risk their lives for whoever is in power,” he said. “So if they can risk their lives for whoever is in power, I can certainly perform for whoever is in power.” »

Trump’s 2017 inauguration included performances by Rockettes, the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and America’s Got Talent singer Jackie Evancho. At Obama’s first inauguration in 2009, Aretha Franklin performed, while Beyoncé and Kelly Clarkson sang at his second inauguration in 2013.
