The two children wanted in the North have been found, franceinfo learned from the gendarmerie, Monday January 20 in the evening. The Kidnapping Alert has been lifted, the Ministry of Justice announced on X. The device was triggered to find the boys aged 3 and 5, kidnapped in Fourmies (North) at midday.
Their father, aged 38, was arrested quickly afterwards. He is suspected of having kidnapped his two sons early in the afternoon while they were with their mother on the public highway, adds the gendarmerie.
Twelve gendarmerie patrols, as well as 10 gendarmes from the Lille research section, were mobilized on Monday, again according to the gendarmerie. The children were found safe and sound in the town of Beuvrages, located in the suburbs of Valenciennes (North).
