OREO and NHLPA: a new partnership for hockey

Quinn Hughes, Zach Hyman, William Nylander, Nick Suzukias well as the stars Sarah Nurse et Marie-Philip Poulinare mobilizing to support fans and young hockey communities in Canada. Thanks to the program «OREO Stay Playful for All »these athletes will help distribute $200,000 in grants for the purchase of new hockey equipment, an initiative carried out in partnership with the program Goals & Dreams of theNHL Players’ Association (NHLPA).

This project marks the start of a multi-year collaboration between OREOa brand of Mondelez Canada Inc., and the NHLPA. Together, they aim to make hockey more accessible to young people, particularly in the most disadvantaged communities. The grants, worth between $10,000 and $25,000, will allow 14 youth hockey organizations to renew their equipment and give children a chance to discover the joys of this sport.

“One of OREO’s core values ​​is playfulness and the power of play, which is why we’re excited to partner with the NHLPA and some of hockey’s top professionals to help make the sport more accessible to young people and to keep the game alive in communities across Canada,” said Chantal Butlerhead of marketing, Mondelez Canada Inc. “Through this program, our goal is to remove the barriers that often prevent access to the game that Canadians love and to give more children the opportunity to discover the joys of hockey.”

Applications for the grants are open until March 15, 2025, and recipients will be chosen in two phases. At the same time, the program’s ambassadors will share on their social networks what “staying playful” means to them, encouraging young fans and organizations to do the same.

By launching this initiative, the NHLPA is also celebrating the 25th anniversary of its Goals & Dreams program, which has already invested more than $26 million in grassroots hockey projects across 40 countries.
