Haitian writer René Depestre received the Roger Caillois prize in Paris on Tuesday, January 14. He was distinguished for his anthology, Journal of a marine animal – Choice of poems 1956-1990, published by Gallimard. Let us recall in passing that on August 29, 2025 this native of Jacmel will be 100 years old.
