As President of the United States, Donald Trump will receive an annual salary of $400,000 US (approximately $570,000 Canadian), before taxes.

In addition to his annual salary, Trump is entitled to:
- An envelope of US$100,000 for his travels
- An entertainment budget of US$19,000
- A tax-free personal allowance of US$50,000.
The president’s salary was increased in 2001, from $200,000 to $400,000.
At the end of his four years in office, the new tenant of 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue will have received 1.6 million US dollars, or approximately 2.3 million Canadian dollars.
And the vice-president?
The new vice president of the United States, JD Vance, will pocket an annual salary of 235,100 US dollars (about 336,675 Canadian dollars), according to the National Taxpayers Union Foundation (NTUF).

The Republican received an annual salary of 174,000 US dollars (250,000 Canadian dollars) as a senator from Ohio.
His personal fortune is estimated at approximately US$5 million.
