2:15 p.m.: Mass at St. John Church

Tradition dictates, Donald Trump will go to St. John Church, located on the other side of Lafayette Park from the White House. He will attend a private mass there, as all elected presidents do.

3:30 p.m.: tea at the White House

The presidential couple will visit the White House, where they will share traditional tea with Joe and Jill Biden. The atmosphere promises to be special to say the least.

The first guests are expected to arrive in the Capitol rotunda around 4 p.m. Due to the freezing temperatures currently gripping Washington, the ceremony will be held indoors. The last time this event could not be held outdoors was in 1985, during the inauguration of Ronald Reagan.

5 p.m.: speech by the new vice president

JD Vance will deliver a speech and then take the oath of office, declaring: “I do solemnly swear to faithfully execute the office of President of the United States, and to the fullest extent of my ability, to preserve, protect, and defend the Constitution of the United States.” .

6 p.m.: Donald Trump takes oath

The new president will be sworn in around 6 p.m., in the Capitol rotunda. He will face John Roberts, President of the Supreme Court. Then he will deliver a speech of an as yet unknown duration. Then, country singer Carrie Underwood will perform “America the Beautiful.”

It will be time for Donald Trump and JD Vance to share a lunch at the Capitol, with the Joint Congressional Committee on Inaugural Ceremonies, in the presence of a few guests.

9:30 p.m.: the parade, but not at the planned location

Due to the bitter cold, the traditional parade will not take place on Pennsylvania Avenue, as tradition dictates. It will take place inside the Capital One Arena, a sports hall located in Chinatown.

9:45 p.m.: arrival at the White House

At the end of the presidential parade, Donald Trump will be escorted by the army to the White House.

Until the end of the night: three balls
