Morocco: 0.2% drop in consumer prices in November 2024

Based on the latest data published by the High Commission for Planning for the month of November 2024, Bank Al Maghrib (BAM), the Moroccan Central Bank indicates that the consumer price index (CPI) fell by 0.2% compared to the previous month.

Likewise, the prices of fuels and lubricants decreased by 1.5% from one month to the next while regulated prices remained at the same level observed in October 2024.

On the other hand, underline BAM services, the underlying inflation indicator increased by 0.3%, driven by the 0.6% increase in food products included in it, notably oils and fresh meats whose prices increased by 1.6% and 1.2% respectively.

In annual comparison, inflation in Morocco stood at 0.8% instead of 0.7% in October 2024 and its average during the first eleven months of the year stood at 1%. For its part, underlying inflation accelerated from 2.2% in October to 2.5% in November and its average since the start of the year stood at 2.2%.
