Although he is a Formula 1 driver for McLaren, Lando Norris seems to prefer driving a Ferrari in his daily life. Last September, he was spotted picking up his brand new Ferrari F40, which he reportedly bought a few months before.
In December, he was again observed driving his car to do his end-of-year holiday shopping. However, around ten days ago, new photos of his F40 appeared on the Internet, but this time in a less flattering context.
Indeed, at the beginning of January, very attentive fans noticed that the left rear bumper of his F40 was damaged. Although the person behind the wheel remains unknown, there is no doubt that the car belongs to Norris, as the license plate matches the one he sported a month earlier.
For those wondering how this could have happened, the answer came this weekend.
A difficult start to the year for the F40s
In a video posted this weekend on social networks, we can very clearly see the driver of the Ferrari roaming the mountainous roads of Monaco. Coming out of a left turn, he lost control of the rear of the vehicle. Despite a completely dry road, the driver was unable to catch up with the car which spun and hit the safety barriers.
The damage observed visibly corresponds to that observed earlier in the month. However, they did not appear to have affected the car’s ability to drive, with the unknown driver immediately parking the vehicle a few meters away.
If the surprise must have been great for the British driver, it will probably be even more so when he receives the bill for the repairs, given the rarity and cost of the components of this model. Unless he decides not to have the car repaired.
-A less serious accident than in the United Kingdom
Fortunately for Norris, it appears his F40 only suffered damage to the rear bumper. He’s undoubtedly luckier than another F40 owner, whose accident was also shared online this weekend.
This other video shows a Ferrari F40, apparently undergoing maintenance with a technician, driving near a village in Hertfordshire, UK.
On a straight, wet road, filmed from a following car, the car loses control, crosses the opposite lane (fortunately without crossing a vehicle), hits an embankment, rolls over and knocks over a lamp post.
The impressive images show damage far more serious than that of Norris’ F40. Currently, it remains uncertain whether this vehicle can be repaired. As for the driver, police report that he was taken to hospital, but his condition remains unknown.

To summarize
If he had appeared several times aboard his Ferrari F40, this time Lando Norris must not be enchanted by the images of his car on social networks. The British vehicle, driven by an unknown person, can be seen spinning off on the outskirts of Monaco.
