Prices frozen at Samsung, the Galaxy S25s would not cost more than last year

How much will the Galaxy S25s cost? It’s a legitimate question and we might be in for a nice surprise.

It is this Wednesday, January 22 that we will officially discover the Galaxy S25. If their technical characteristics have been widely leaked before their time, it remains to be known their prices.

At first it was thought that Samsunt would increase its prices. A decision that would have been understandable given that the S25, S25+ and S25 Ultra must all feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite, Qualcomm’s latest flagship.

The same prices as the Galaxy S24

Xiaomi’s future bestseller has just arrived. This new reference combining impressive features and attractive prices is already on sale at Boulanger.

But according to the Korean media fnnews.com, we should ultimately expect good news. Samsung has reportedly chosen to freeze the prices of its Galaxy S25s. They would therefore be identical to those of the Galaxy S24.

  • Galaxy S25 128 GB: 1,155,000 won (899 euros in ),
  • Galaxy S25+ 256 GB: 1,353,000 won (1169 euros in France),
  • Galaxy S25 Ultra 256 GB: 1,698,400 won (1469 euros in France).

The most observant will have noted that we only write here the prices of the basic versions. Storage is expected to expand to 256 and 512 GB for the S25, 512 GB for the S25+, and 512 and 1 TB for the S25 Ultra.

An increase on higher storage?

And perhaps this is where the increase could take place, explains PhoneArena. However, it would be a few won. Yes because everything we say here is for the Korean market. There is no doubt that Samsung will pursue the same policy on international markets, but we will only find out on Wednesday during its Galaxy Unpacked event.

By freezing its prices, Samsung wants to get a head start on Chinese competition which tends to increase its prices on models using the Snapdragon 8 Elite, this chip being significantly more expensive than last year’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 .

A great opportunity to highlight One UI 7 and its Galaxy AI package and thus consolidate its position in the smartphone artificial intelligence market.
