rapper sentenced to death for blasphemy (media)

Iranian rapper Amir Tatalou, real name Amir Hossein Maghsoudloosentenced to death on appeal.

The Supreme Court found him guilty of insulting the prophet, “encouraging the younger generation to prostitution” and “making propaganda against” the Islamic Republic.

The legal term Saba al-Nabi means any insult, insult, attribution of derogatory traits, or denial of the status and dignity of the Prophet Muhammad.

Amir Hossein Maghsoudloo was a supporter of Ibrahim Raisi during his campaign for the 2017 presidential election, and even on the eve of this round of the presidential election, the two men sat together and talked about the song of the Imam Reza. Previously and during the presidency of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, Amir Tatalou also supported the nuclear program of the Islamic Republic of Iran by performing a song called Nuclear Energy.

However, due to the behavior and appearance described by structuralist fundamentalists and the negativity of the values of Islamic ethics, he faced serious restrictions in artistic activity and, due to this he described as the lack of a license to organize the title concert, he left Iran and emigrated to Turkey. He also made headlines from time to time after emigrating, including having his Instagram page blocked for posting numerous user reports of misogynistic and violent content, being arrested by Turkish police for “violating visa rules” while traveling to Britain, accused of insulting figures of the Shiite religion and encouraging young people to seek help from psychoanalysts, began living with Sahar Quraysh Shashi, an actress Iranian and promoted betting sites.

Rejecting these accusations, Amir Tatalou has always considered himself entitled to free artistic activity. However, four years ago he was arrested by Turkish police, returned to Iran and imprisoned four years ago, following an Iranian complaint “for encouraging citizens, especially young people, to consume drugs, particularly psychotropic drugs, and for spreading corruption.”

Following the five-year prison sentence, the Tehran prosecutor appealed the verdict and recognized that Amir Tatalou’s behavior did not suit Seb al-Nabi. His case was reviewed by the Supreme Court again, the preliminary vote was canceled and his case was sent back to the Sixth Branch of the Tehran Provincial Criminal Court.

Although Amir Tatalou said he had no intention of disrespecting figures of the Shiite religion and his religious beliefs, an Iranian media group reported Sunday evening that judges from the Sixth Chamber of the Provincial Criminal Court of Tehran had sentenced him to death this time.

But a few minutes later, the Fars news agency, close to the IRGC, wrote, quoting a well-informed official: “The final verdict on Amir Tatalou has not yet been rendered. He has just been placed under legal guardianship,” he said.

In accordance with the law, Amir Tatalou can appeal the decision again, and his case will be referred back to the Supreme Court.
