An incredible gold snake slides onto the dial of the new Arnold & Son watch – Masculin.com

Arnold & Son has accustomed us to offering incredibly beautiful moon phase watches, like its Luna Magna and its Perpetual Moon which beautifully showcase the Earth’s natural satellite. As 2025 marks the arrival of the Year of the Snake according to the lunar calendar, the Swiss brand had to celebrate this event with a new edition of its favorite timepiece.

Among all the watches placed under the sign of the snake this year, the Perpetual Moon 41.5 Red Gold “Year of the Snake” is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful.

Since 2021, Bell & Ross has worked in close collaboration with the Patrouille de . After several creations in the BR03 collection, today it is the BR05 chronograph which has become “celebrated…Read more

A dial that enhances artistic crafts

This year again, the dial of the Perpetual Moon « Year of the Snake » is a true miniature painting. It hosts a hand-engraved 18-carat rose gold snake, whose details impress: from the meticulously sculpted scales to the bifid tongue and broad head, everything exudes realism. This snake appears to be coiling around the branches of a ginkgo biloba tree, a symbol of resilience, with a pagoda painted with gold powder in the background.

The result is even more spectacular in the dark, since these elements glow in the dark thanks to the application of Super-LumiNova, and bring a mysterious depth to the nocturnal decor.

As for the watch unveiled for the year of the dragon 2024, the dial is made of blue aventurine glass, evoking a starry sky where floats an immense 11.2 mm white mother-of-pearl Moonenhanced with hand-painted shadows and Super-LumiNova. There are also the constellations of Ursa Major and Cassiopeia, a nod to the maritime history of John Arnold, famous for his marine chronometers.

A surprise hidden on the back of the watch

On the background side, Arnold & Son has a technical surprise in store: a second moon phase indicatorvisible through the transparent sapphire case back. This device allows precise adjustments, avoiding the approximations often encountered with this type of complication. The astronomical precision of the watch is such that it only requires a one-day adjustment every 122 years.

For the rest, this timepiece is driven by the caliber A&S1512a mechanical movement with manual winding designed and decorated in the brand’s workshops in La Chaux-de-Fonds. Equipped with two barrels, it offers a generous power reserve of 90 hours and refined finishes: angled bridges decorated with radiating Côtes de Genève, spiral wheels and blued screws.

The 18k red gold case 41.5 mm in diameter is accompanied by a blue alligator strap lined with red, which perfectly completes this elegant ensemble.

With only 8 examples produced, this Perpetual Moon 41.5 “Year of the Snake” embodies the spirit of exclusivity dear to Arnold & Son. An observation reinforced by the price of this jewel, displayed at 57,200 CHF, i.e. around 60,000 euros.
