DONALD TRUMP. A few hours before his inauguration and his return to the White House, the Republican held a new meeting in Washington in front of a crowd committed to his cause. The opportunity to go all out on immigration, which he will make his priority once officially in office.

► FIRES IN LOS ANGELES. It’s a high-risk day in California. A new episode of strong winds is feared this Monday while firefighters are still working against the advancing flames. At least 27 people have lost their lives and 16,000 hectares have been destroyed while the two main fires are still active.

ISRAEL-HAMAS AGREEMENT. The day after the release of the first three Israeli hostages by the Islamist terrorist group, the Hebrew state honored its part of the agreement with the release of 90 Palestinian prisoners overnight from Sunday to Monday. A new phase of liberations, if the ceasefire persists, must take place next Saturday.

PARTIAL LEGISLATIVE IN ISÈRE. The voters of the 1re constituency of Isère were called to the polls this Sunday, January 19. The Ensemble pour la République candidate, Camille Galliard-Minier, was largely elected deputy with 64.3% of the votes against the LFI-New Popular Front candidate in the running, Lyes Louffok (37.7%). The NFP thus lost a seat in the Assembly.
