For a few hours, France, more precisely Paris, was in the colors of the flags of Russia and the countries of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES), namely Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger.
Indeed, a rally in support of the Alliance of Sahel States took place on January 18 in Paris.
This rally took place in response to another demonstration demanding the maintenance of Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso in ECOWAS, according to AES info.
Flags in hand, these demonstrators expressed their support for the presidents of the three countries. They invited Assimi Goita, Ibrahim Traoré and Tiani to intensify collaboration with Vladimir Putin’s Russia.
“Supporters of the Alliance of Sahel States (AES) gathered on January 18 in Paris, in response to a previous demonstration against the withdrawal of Mali, Niger and Burkina from ECOWAS held on January 11 in the French capital »reports AES info.
“This strong mobilization contrasts sharply with the previous demonstration, highlighting significant support within the diaspora for the ongoing transitions in Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso, as well as for their decision to leave ECOWAS”reports the same source.
-Bamako, Niamey and Ouagadougou had announced that they would leave ECOWAS in January 2024, to found the Alliance of Sahel States.
The withdrawal of the organization of the three Sahelian countries should be effective on January 29, 2025.
It should be noted that this demonstration was authorized in France despite the tense relations between France and the three AES countries including Mali, Niger and Burkina Faso, supported by Russia.
