Fans respond to the Victory game in Quebec

The line to get a team jersey or promotional item was long this afternoon at the Videotron Center. Met by Noovo Info, fans said they were happy to see the enthusiasm for women’s hockey in Quebec.

“I played hockey when I was young. For me, women’s hockey already seeing that it has become so big… I find it really great.

“It proves that the feminine can have as much scope as the masculine” added another supporter.

For the Professional Women’s Hockey League (LPHF), one of the objectives was to test the Quebec market with a view to possible expansion.

The mayor of Quebec Bruno Marchand met on Saturday with the first vice-president of operations of the LPHF Amy Scheer to “reaffirm his wish to see his city integrate the expansion of the league” according to a press release sent to the media.

Mr. Marchand said Quebec “would be an ideal location for the league’s expansion,” citing Quebec’s “love of hockey” as well as its infrastructure.
