No designer wants to dress Melania Trump!

Melania Trump, the future first lady, is facing an unexpected fashion problem. With the world’s eyes glued to Donald Trump’s inauguration, the question of which designers are ready to dress Melania for this important occasion remains open.

The fashion world is reluctant when it comes to dressing the future First Lady. And although the inauguration is one of the biggest creative stages, only a few designers have so far agreed to dress Melania Trump on January 20.

She is expected to wear two different outfits that day: one for the official ceremony and another for the evening ball.

The famous fashion magazine “Women’s Wear Daily” (WWD) asked 16 designers if they could dress Melania, but none of them agreed.

Similar issues arose during the first inauguration in 2017, with designers like Marc Jacobs, Jason Wu, Zac Posen and Tom Ford refusing to create outfits for the event.

Finally, Melania wore a powder blue Ralph Lauren suit that was rumored not to be a direct collaboration with the designer. Her evening dress was designed by Hervé Pierre, a French-American stylist who serves as her personal designer.

The fashion industry is ‘not very welcoming’

Many fashion brands seem to want to avoid being associated with Melania Trump. Hervé Pierre reported that he was once turned away at the door of a store on Madison Avenue when he wanted to make purchases for Melania. He did not cite the label so as not to give free publicity.

“I understand that one can criticize Ms. Trump,” Pierre told “WWD.” “But to say to someone who comes to shop – at full price – ‘you’re not welcome here’, I didn’t expect that.”

According to the Mail, Pierre buys 99 percent of Trump’s clothes ready-to-wear, a marked departure from the practice of previous first ladies, who often preferred custom designs. “I don’t really do it, but for good reason: the fashion industry is not very welcoming,” Pierre explained. “It’s not a secret. Some are very open-minded and could do something special. But many are not.
