???? RFC Liège stands up to the leader who sees his series of seven consecutive victories stopped at Rocourt – All football

RFC Liège started the year with a defeat (2-1 at RWDM) and remains on a delicate record of one victory and four defeats in the last five CPL matches.

The challenge was great to launch 2025 by offering a victory to its supporters, against the leader Zulte Waregem.

But after a first period without goals, with very few chances but nevertheless balanced, Stavros Gavriel (47th) opened the scoring for the visitors.

Liège reacted and Pierre-Yves Cat (69th) responded to the opener after the hour mark. The Sang & Marine pushed at the end of the match but the score no longer changed.

Liège snatch a good point at home, their first of the new year, against a Zulte Waregem team who would have wanted to take full advantage of the La Louvière result to widen their gap.
