The comedy “Avignon” was rewarded at the Alpe d’Huez festival on Saturday January 18. French comedies have never done so well in cinema.
-At the Alpe d’Huez festival, the film Avignon won the grand jury prize, the supreme award. “I obviously dedicate this prize to all the struggling theater companies”said director Johann Dionnet. This first film tells a love story during the Avignon festival, with its atmosphere and its troubles. This joyful film was rewarded by the Elsa Zylberstein jury.
During five days of competition, the comedies followed one another, including the fifth part of the adventures of the Tuche family which takes place in England. The films awarded at Alpe d’Huez often perform well in cinemas. French comedies have never done so well. At first place at the box office, A little something extraproduced by Artus, had 11 million admissions. The comedy is breaking all records and the Americans and Italians have already bought the rights to make a remake.
