Valencia floods continue to kill… Staircase collapses on worker in flooded building during October storm

Several months later, the terrible floods which affected the community of Valencia (Spain) in October 2024 continue to cause damage and deaths.

While intervening to clean and repair a flooded garage in the municipality of Benetússer, two workers were caught in the collapse of a staircase, visibly damaged by the consequences of heavy rains.

According to Spanish media, help intervened quickly but although the injured person was transported to the Fe hospital in Valencia for a contusion to the chest, another worker was killed in this collapse.

He is a 45-year-old man from Cartagena who was sent to the province of Valencia by his company for cleaning and repair work on flooded buildings.

This is the second worker to die while repairing damage from the storm of October 29. In late November, a man who worked at a school died when the metal porch connecting two buildings collapsed while he was cleaning it.
