Opposed to neighbors AS Saint-Priest, OL Futsal did not last long in the National Cup. After only two rounds, the Lyonnais are already eliminated (3-1).
The cup could have been a breath of fresh air in the complicated daily life of D2. Finally, theOL Futsal will have to concentrate 100% on the championship from next week. Indeed, the National Cup journey ended after only two rounds contested by the Lyonnais. If the opposition against Vaulx-en-Velin had not given David’s players a cold sweat Touréthe short trip to Saint-Priest was not crowned with success. Facing neighbors ASSP, OL left after a 3-1 defeat in San Priote territory early Saturday evening. Thanks to the quick opening score of Anthony Esparza (4th), Saint-Priest quickly took control before making the difference before (17th) and after the break (25th).
Match of fear next Saturday in the championship
With this elimination, OL Futsal now has only one objective in mind: to ensure its survival for its first time in D2. For the moment, the objective looks complicated with a penultimate place and only five points on the clock. Defeated byAC Ajaccio for the resumption in 2025, the Lyonnais have a crucial match next weekend. They will receive Strasbourgbottom of Pool B and only one length behind. The mission is clear for OL: only victory will be good at home on Saturday January 25 (2 p.m.).
