Weather – Extreme cold, snow and blizzard for the province

Environment Canada has issued weather warnings for several regions. Temperatures will be colder and some areas could receive up to 20 cm of snow.

Heavy snow and blowing snow possible for Estrie and Beauce, particularly in mountainous terrain near the American border.

A weather system will move up the American east coast and could bring significant amounts of snow and blowing snow to places. The heaviest snow accumulations are expected to occur in mountainous terrain near the US border. Travel could be difficult.

Winter storm possible for Gaspésie and the North Shore

EXTREME COLD WARNING

Episode of several days of extreme cold for the regions to the west and north of the province, among others, Abitibi-Témiscamingue, Chibougameau, Mistassini, etc.

Wind chill between -38 and -42.

When :
From Saturday evening until Wednesday.

Additional information:
An arctic air mass with light to moderate winds will move into western Quebec starting on Saturday while spreading eastward over the following days. Maximum temperatures will remain below -20 degrees Celsius while night temperatures will be below -30 degrees Celsius until Wednesday.
