A Russian strike left at least four dead and five injured in broad daylight in the industrial town of Kryvyi Rig, in central Ukraine, the regional governor announced. The attack hit an “education institution” and residential buildings.
Five people were injured, three of them “seriously”, according to the same source. A video, released by the governor, shows damaged buildings and debris strewn across a street.
This attack reminds us “who we are dealing with”, said President Volodymyr Zelensky, who was born in Kryvyï Rig, currently 80 kilometers from the front line. “Russia will not stop itself. It can only be stopped by joint pressure,” he said, a call to his Western allies.
-Kryvyï Rig, which had more than 600,000 inhabitants before the start of the Russian invasion of Ukraine in February 2022, has since been frequently targeted by Russian air attacks.
