When captain Nick Suzuki lost a piece of his tooth in the first period, Auston Matthews was punished for four minutes and the floodgates opened for the Canadiens on Saturday night at the Bell Centre.
Patrik Laine punished the Toronto Maple Leafs by already scoring a 10th power play goal in only his 17th game this season, matching a mark from Yvan Cournoyer.
Nine seconds later, Josh Anderson raced past and made it 3-0 in spectacular fashion.
