This Saturday, January 18, 2025, the Star Academy lost a huge star at the gates of the final. Franck reacted after his elimination against Ebony.
This Saturday evening, at studio 217, the time has come for Ebony and Franck to engage in a decisive duel under the spotlight. While Marine, already qualified for the grand final on January 25, observes with serenity, the two academicians have only one objective: to convince the public to win their coveted ticket. The evening kept all its promises with performances that were as moving as they were impressive. Ebony, Franck and Marine opened the ball by uniting their voices on Last Dance by Donna Summer. A luminous introduction which immediately set the mood in studio 217.
An unforgettable bonus
During the solos, Ebony delivered a moving interpretation of do not judge me by Camille Lellouche. Her emotional voice and sincerity touched the heart, proving that she deserved her place in this semi-final. For his part, Franck left his mark with his masterful cover of As they say by Charles Aznavour. His ability to inhabit the text and convey the intensity of this iconic song won over the audience. But what undoubtedly seduced was the song-dance performance of the two academicians on Unholy. A performance that the public hopes to see again during the tour.
-The public’s choice proved complex, with both candidates shining throughout the evening. It is during their interpretation of Rolling in the Deep from Adele that their vocal talents were put to the test. Although their performances were praised for their accuracy and intensity, deficiencies in English pronunciation were noted.
Franck’s touching words before leaving
Unfortunately, at the end of the evening, Nikos Aliagas revealed which candidate would continue the adventure in the final against Marine. It was Ebony who was saved by the public, leaving Franck to see his dream disappear at the gates of the final… However, the young man showed fair play and reacted after his elimination. How does he feel? “I don’t really know, honestly, there is this liberating side, it’s true, of saying to ourselves that all this is over, we’ll be able to relax for two minutes. A little disappointment obviously. I wanted to go as far as ‘at the end…. But there are no regrets. There is also a lot of pride for Marine already, but especially for Ebony, my little sister.’ With a smile on his lips and with his kindness, he added that this poster in the final was not “not so bad” for the show lover that he is. He still has a message to convey to Marine: “let her finish my scarf”. A Franck in all the splendor that the public will not soon forget!
