Mail Sport understands Wayne Bridge has been lined up to take on YouTuber KSI.
The former Chelsea, Manchester City and England star is a potential opponent for the influencer, with an announcement expected to be made soon.
Officials declined to confirm whether the 44-year-old left-back would face KSI, who recently expressed a desire to get in the ring with Conor McGregor. However, they revealed that Bridge was one of the names.
Bridge has fought before, beating Made in Chelsea star Spencer Matthews in a charity match seven years ago.
He retired in 2014 after a career which saw him win the Premier League, FA Cup and League Cup with Chelsea. Bridge also played for Southampton, Fulham, West Ham, Sunderland and Brighton, making 36 appearances for England. Those who know him say he remains in excellent condition.
London-born KSI (real name Olajide Olatunji) has amassed millions of followers, released rap albums and oversees numerous business ventures.
