Nintendo has big sales ambitions for its Switch 2

The forecast is all the more interesting given that in the face of little new developments from the Switch 2, the financial markets had a mixed reception. However, it is better to wait for the Nintendo Direct scheduled for April 2 which will tell us more about the technical sheet of the console which would be as powerful as a PS4 Pro. Remember that it will be possible to try it during an event at the Grand Palais in .

Despite this mixed reception from the financial markets, Nintendo is very confident according to Robin Zhu. The Japanese firm has already prepared an overhaul of its supply chain to cope with a commercial tidal wave from 2025. The manufacturer has great ambitions: selling 2 million units this year alone.

As a reminder, the PS4 and PS5 were sold respectively 14.4 million and 18.2 million units during their first year of marketing. As for the first generation Wii and Switch, we are talking about 13.1 million and 14.7 million units respectively a year after their release. Nintendo therefore has great confidence in its Switch 2 which will be backwards compatible but not with all games.

If Nintendo has this much confidence in its product, This means that the Switch 2 has huge tricks up its sleeve despite the players’ disappointment with this teaser which presents little new stuff. Better to wait for the next announcements to find out what the console really has in its belly and the planned features.
