the daughter-in-law of the man found dead in a box in testifies

The daughter of the ex-partner of the man found dead in testifies to BFMTV. She describes a violent, alcoholic man who “would have killed” his mother “one day or another”.

Many gray areas still persist around the family murder that occurred in Mulhouse. The body of a man, who disappeared in 2021, was found in a box on Christmas Eve, our colleagues at RMC revealed.

Since then, three members of the family have been indicted and placed in pre-trial detention: the man’s two children, now aged 19 and 22, as well as his ex-partner. The latter is accused of having helped the two children to hide the body. While in police custody, she explained that her ex-partner was violent and an alcoholic. Comments confirmed to BFMTV by the suspect’s daughter, who describes “someone violent” and “extremely bad”.

“At the slightest annoyance, he would start shouting, insulting, threatening us. He would hit the walls, the doors… He has already violently pushed my mother, he has already violently hit his children,” says she said.

“One day or another, he would have killed her”

She said she had already seen the man “stick her daughter’s hand with a pen”, and to have been afraid to call for help “because we were afraid he would take revenge”.

“We knew that if we tried something, he was going to come back and make us pay. He had already done it in the past with other people. We felt prisoners of his violence,” she says.

When the man disappeared, the young woman explains that her mother only told her that he had left. She was then not worried about not seeing him anymore, saying on the contrary she was “relieved”. “She told me that he had lost his temper, that he took his car and left. I believed him, it looks like him. I never doubted it.”

Even today, she describes her mother as a “kind” person, a “strong” woman, who experienced complicated things.

She even believes that “if he hadn’t ended up like that, it would have been my mother who would have died. We all know that one day or another, he would have killed her.” She is now waiting to be able to see her mother, who is in pre-trial detention.

The investigation continues, in particular to determine when the man was killed and when his body was placed in the box. Questions also arise around the causes of death: the ex-partner spoke in police custody of death by suffocation, while the autopsy revealed wounds in the stomach.
