A clash between two very poorly ranked Bundesliga teams is looming. Holstein Kiel for its part is currently 17th in the Bundesliga, penultimate in the standings. Kiel is only two points ahead of bottom Bochum. The results of the Storks in the Championship are quite surprising. The Kiel club recently beat Borussia Dortmund (4-2), and Augsburg just before the break (5-1). Two of Holstein Kiel’s three victories this season in the Bundesliga.
Opposite, Hoffenheim is also fighting for its survival in 16th place with 14 points, three more than its future opponent. The blue and white club remains on three consecutive defeats in the Bundesliga, including a painful setback against Bayern Munich last weekend (5-0). With already nine defeats in 17 days, Hoffenheim seems condemned to fight to maintain their position until the end of the season. The club’s last victory dates back to November 23 against RB Leipzig (4-3).
