Offensive explosion for the Knights

After a victorious stop in Rivière-du-Loup, it was the Montreal region that awaited the Lévis Knights for the match played Friday evening in the M18 AAA Hockey League. Their opponents, the Riverains du Collège Charles-Lemoyne, had the upper hand in overtime when they came to Lévis last November.

Antoine Proulx is granted the departure for Lévis while his opposite is Patrick Deniger, a hopeful from the Remparts de Québec. In the absence of their head coach for the weekend’s games, Simon Larouche and the Knights tried to seek victory in Ste-Catherine.

The Knights set the pace of the game as they quickly took control as Alex Desruisseaux pushed the faceoff forward and Malyk Côté took the opportunity to beat Vincent Moreau. The Knights continue to open the valves. A few minutes later, the third trio did the job which gave Dereck Asselin the chance to double his team’s lead. Passes are given to Josh Demers and Logan Bêty. At the end of the engagement, Dominic Bolduc registered his first in the Lévesque circuit, he who came to compensate for the absence of Elliot Labonté. After 20 minutes, 3-0 for the visitors.

A second engagement where the Knights do not let themselves eat chicken on their backs as they slow down several attacks from the Riverains and also slow down the numerical advantage of the locals at possible resumption. The Knights play with heart while thinking of their head coach who had to withdraw for the weekend.

Control of the game continues for Lévis, while this time in a five-man attack, Alex Desruisseaux threads the needle and increases the lead to five goals. Frustration begins to grip the locals as they receive punishments. Jan Sikora-Roldan thwarts Antoine Proulx and prevents the latter from a shutout at the very end of the game.

The final score, 5-1 Lévis
