Alpine skiing – World Cup. Wengen: Miha Hrobat to open the gate, Nils Allègre first Frenchman on track

Miha Hrobat received bib 1 for the Wengen downhill (12:30 p.m.). The Slovenian will open the longest race of the season, eight French people are at the start.

It’s time for the longest descent of the season. Wengen is hosting the World Cup this weekend and skiers will launch this Saturday at 12:30 p.m. in one of the toughest races of the winter. During the draw, the Slovenian Miha Hrobat obtained the bib. He will be followed by Stefan Rogentin, 3rd in the super-G, and Florian Schieder.

Vincent Kriechmayr received bib 8 and Marco Odermatt 13. Franjo Von Allmen, winner of the super-G this Friday, will start just in front of his compatriot.

Eight French people are lined up for the descent from Wengen. Nils Allègre will be the first to leave with his bib 10. Four others appear in the top 30 with Maxence Muzaton and Blaise Giezendanner who receive 17 and 18. Adrien Théaux will follow with 21 and Nils Alphand with bib 24. Matthieu Bailet has number 32 and Ken Caillot is at the end of the starting list with number 49.

Following his fall during the super-G, Sam Alphand emerged from the hospital without any injuries but will not take part in the descent. He will be resting at home for the next few days.
