After killing his partner, Bruno Laffilay set up a macabre scenario to escape justice

On Saturday January 18 at 9:05 p.m., TFX broadcasts Criminal Chronicles. A program which will return to the Bruno Laffilay affair, named after this murderer who almost escaped justice.

This Saturday, TFX will deliver a new version of its show Criminal Chronicles. A special issue, focusing on a case like no other, that of the murder of Harmonie Marin. A woman killed by her companion, Bruno Laffilay. A man who initially saw this investigation closed. It is thanks to the mobilization of the victim’s family that the case has not been forgotten.

Bruno Laffilay: a murderer betrayed by SMS

On June 19, 2013, Harmonie Marin was found lifeless at her home in Fécamp by her partner, Bruno Laffilay. At least, that’s the version he gives to the police. Investigators to whom he mentions a suicide, a hanging at the end of a wire, on the upper floor of his house. Despite the lack of robustness of this line intended for hanging laundry, his thesis is accepted by the doctor’s autopsy and therefore the police. Another disturbing element, in his panic, the companion did not mention a chair or stool that allowed Harmonie Marin to fall into the void. The investigation will still be closed, but the victim’s parents will do everything to ensure that the case is not completely closed.

Bruno Laffilay sentenced thanks to the fight of the victim’s parents, Harmonie Marin

Several SMS messages from Bruno Laffilay will thus be brought to light by Harmonie Matin’s mother. Vehement messages, threats, about a separation and the future of their house in Fécamp. Heard again, he will finally break down and talk about a “crazy move” to discuss the murder of his partner. A thesis held during his trial in September 2017. Guillaume Routel, the lawyer for the Marin family, will plead for premeditation, as we can read in this declaration transcribed by Blue : “It was an organized murder, cold-blooded murder. (…) You were a domestic tyrant.” A mason who became a volunteer first aid worker with the Red Cross, he was also presented by relatives as a manipulator, a man “addicted to women” considering lying as a way out. Before being sentenced to 25 years in prison by the Seine-Maritime Assize Court, Bruno Lafillay tried to explain himself to Harmonie Marin’s parents: “I regret everything that happened, but I know I have no right to ask you for forgiveness.”
