During the night from Friday to Saturday, a 40-year-old man died in a fire in his apartment in Issoire, in Puy-de-Dôme. Two other residents had to be urgently rehoused.
Saturday January 18, around 12:30 a.m., a fire broke out in an apartment located on rue du Palais, in Issoire.
One dead and two people relocated after the fire
If the firefighters quickly extinguished the flames in this second floor accommodation, they found a 40 year old man on the premises.
According to La Montagne, the victim was seriously burned and did not survive. A cat was also discovered lifeless.
Two other residents of the building, who were not injured, were urgently rehoused, including one by the Issoire town hall. An investigation has been opened to determine the causes of this fatal fire.
