Goalkeeper Frederik Andersen has been given the green light to return to action after months on the sidelines with a knee injury. The 35-year-old Dane could also be sent into the fray in the evening against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Anderson has only played four games since the start of the 2024-2025 season and only 20 games over the last two campaigns. He underwent knee surgery on November 22, forcing him to be absent for a period of eight to twelve weeks.

Last year, he missed around fifty of his team’s matches due to a blood clot.

In the four games he played this year, Andersen maintained an excellent goals-against average of 1.48 and an efficiency rate of .941.

To fill his absence, the Hurricanes entrusted the number one role to young Russian goaltender Pyotr Kotchetkov. The latter won 16 of his 28 starts, while maintaining a goals against average of 2.54 and an efficiency rate of .901.

Veterans Dustin Tokarski and Spencer Martin, as well as Quebecer Yaniv Perets, also saw action in net for the Hurricanes this season.
