Denis Law has passed away – RFJ your regional radio

Manchester United and Scottish football mourn one of their greatest players. Denis Law, who was the oldest Ballon d’Or winner, has died at 84.

Ballon d’Or 1964, Denis Law began his career at Huddersfield Town, but made his name at Manchester United where he spent 11 years, winning the league title in 1965 and 1967, as well as the European Cup in 1968. He scored 237 goals in 404 matches, becoming the third highest scorer in the club’s history behind Wayne Rooney (253) and Bobby Charlton (249).

The only Scot to have won the Ballon d’Or, Denis Law has also worn the colors of Manchester City and Torino. He remains Scotland’s all-time top scorer, with 30 goals in 55 caps, having made his international debut in 1958 at the age of 18.
