Historic Contract: Erling Haaland Extends His Agreement with City for Nine and a Half Years!

In a groundbreaking move, Erling Haaland has extended his contract with Manchester City for an impressive nine and a half years. Originally scheduled to expire in 2027, this new agreement is among the longest in football history. Aged only 24, if he manages to go all the way, he will wear the Citizens jersey until he is 34.

Since arriving at City from Borussia Dortmund in June 2022, the Norwegian striker has made a remarkable impact, scoring 111 goals in 126 appearances. His rapid transition to a key player prompted the club to secure his services for several seasons to come. While the possibility of future changes can never be ruled out, long-term contracts of this nature are a rarity in the sport.

He expressed his gratitude to coach Pep Guardiola, the technical staff and his teammates, acknowledging their significant support over the past few years. “They made this place truly special, and now I’m committed to City, whatever happens,” he added enthusiastically.

Haaland also mentioned her development aspirations, saying: “I want to continue to grow, work to improve and do my best to help us achieve even more success in the future.”

This season, Haaland has started well in the Premier League, scoring 10 goals in his first five matches, including two consecutive hat-tricks. However, he scored just six more goals in the next 16 league matches, putting him second in the goalscoring charts behind Mohamed Salah, who leads with 18 goals.

During his two and a half seasons with Manchester City, Haaland won two Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy, an FA Cup and a Super Cup. It’s clear that he aspires to collect more accolades, and with plenty of time still ahead of him, he has the opportunity to further add to his impressive trophy collection.
