what percentage of support can you expect?

Stellantis has just launched its compensation platform for problems with the 1.2 PureTech and AdBlue tanks. But in the latter case, the support may vary greatly depending on the age and mileage of the vehicle.

In an agreement signed with the European Union, the Stellantis group promised to better address problems with AdBlue tanks on its Citroën, DS, Opel and Peugeot diesel vehicles. The launch of a compensation platform, which is also used for 1.2 PureTech, is part of this commitment. This new tool is accessible at https://stellantis-support.com/v2/index.php. It completes some measures which had already been taken in February 2023, then December 2023. Its main aim, in addition to responding to criticism, is to improve the compensation offered to owners who would have replaced their urea tank before these two dates, but also after January 1, 2021. For the moment, nothing is planned if the repair took place earlier than that.

Very variable support

Labor is also only reimbursed up to €30, as has been the case since December 2023. For the part itself, on the other hand, the coverage may well reach 100%, as this was provided for by the “special global guarantee” launched in February 2023. But to be fully reimbursed, the vehicle must be less than 5 years old AND less than 150,000 km. If one of these two terms is exceeded, compensation remains possible as long as the car is less than 8 years old. On the other hand, compensation for the AdBlue tank will be limited to a certain percentage, variable depending on the mileage to take into account obsolescence:

  • From 0 to 30,000 km: 90%
  • From 30,001 to 50,000 km: 80%
  • From 50,001 to 80,000 km: 70%
  • From 80,001 to 110,000 km: 60%
  • From 110,001 to 140,000 km: 50%
  • From 140,001 to 180,000 km: 40%
  • From 180,001 to 210,000 km: 30%
  • More than 201,000 km: 0%

Please note, to hope for support, the diagnosis and repair of the fault must also have been carried out in the Citroën, DS, Opel or Peugeot network. The vehicle must also have been produced between January 2014 and August 2020. But you shouldn’t have to provide your latest maintenance invoices like 1.2 PureTech owners do.

On the track as well as virtually thanks to simracing, automobiles are a passion that I often experience intensely. What could be better, then, than being able to share it through journalism, by addressing all the facets of this formidable invention and seeking to be of service to the reader at the same time?
