The new office, chaired by Lisbeth Leclerc, took over after a few months of smoothing out, with Martine Guiraute as treasurer and Philippe Sarrouilhe secretary.

With the establishment project transmitted at the end of December to the supervisory authorities, the EMIHB reaffirmed its ambition “to be a plural Music school, accessible and anchored in the territory, allowing everyone to enjoy and flourish in an individual and collective dynamic to promote culture in Haut-Béarn.”
With 335 members after the start of the school year, numbers are maintained for CHAM classes at the Collège des Cordeliers and in Aspe, but benefit from a strong increase in Lasseube (+ 17%) and a drop in Barétous. 61% of members are children. Nearly a third of students benefit from a reduction due to the family quotient.
“TradEMIHBera”, a new workshop
In operation, the EMIHB relies on a team of 14 qualified teachers, a double-headed coordination to meet the requirements of the Departmental Plan, Stéphane Lataillade administrative manager and Séverine Berdot for pedagogy, and a secretariat, Mathilde Jaragoyen, implementation made available by the Community of Communes of Haut-Béarn.
-Thanks to the mobilization of teachers and administrators, but also of partner and solidarity groups, the year 2024 was punctuated by numerous support activities to increase the association’s self-financing share. A dynamic which will continue in 2025 and which will be able to rely on “TradEMIHBera”, a new workshop created at the initiative of two teachers to host trad balls or other events in the region.
With around twenty multi-instrument musicians, it has already carried out several outings, in Puyoô, Lanne-en-Barétous, Accous and Bedous. We will see him very soon for the Oloron Carnival.
