Macabre discovery on Christmas Day. On December 24, 2024, the police services of the Mulhouse police station (Haut-Rhin) were informed of the presence, in a garage, of a corpse in an advanced state of putrefaction which was hidden in a cupboard.
In a very short time, the investigators made a connection with the tenant of the garage who no longer resided there. This man, aged 38, had been the subject of a report for a worrying disappearance since October 2021 from his new owner. Immediately, suspicion fell on the victim’s ex-partner and her two children who had never reported this disappearance and who had access to this garage.
The mother initially arrested
A few days after the discovery of the body, the victim’s partner was taken into police custody. Faced with investigators, she admitted having “with the help of his children, he nourishes a criminal project” while questioning them “for having deliberately killed the victim by suffocating him”details the Mulhouse floor.
The detainee justified this action by the behavior of her companion whom she described as“alcoholic and violent”, without ever having filed a complaint against him. Presented to the investigating judge, she was indicted for murder by spouse and placed in pre-trial detention.
