Star forward Connor McDavid is already the second-highest scorer in Edmonton Oilers history behind Wayne Gretzky. Thanks to a three-point performance last night in a 5-3 win over the Minnesota Wild, he moved up one spot in Edmonton.
Having now totaled 1,044 points in 686 regular season games, the 97 has passed Jarri Kurri for second in Oilers history. McDavid, however, is still quite far from Gretzky who amassed 1,669 points with the Oilers in the 80s. Except that we should have a new leader within a few years if McDavid still plays in Edmonton for a few seasons.
Big victory for the Oilers who find themselves just two points behind the Vegas Golden Knights and the top of the Pacific Division after winning seven of their last eight meetings.
In the loss, Matt Boldy, Marco Rossi and Ryan Hartman scored for the Wild. Rossi became the fourth Austrian player to amass 80 points in the NHL.
