SpaceX lost all contact with the 2nd stage of its Starship megarocket after an “anomaly”

“We lost all communication with the ship (…) this clearly indicates to us that there was an anomaly with the upper stage,” declared Dan Huot, before another SpaceX manager confirmed that they had indeed “lost the ship”.

Before that, the largest rocket ever built, currently being developed by Elon Musk’s SpaceX company to go to the Moon and Mars, took off from Texas. Starship indeed launched into the air shortly after 4:37 p.m. local time (11:37 p.m. Belgian time), a takeoff which occurs on the same day as the first launch of the New Glenn rocket from its competitor Blue Origin, which was a success.
