Between the two Alcaraz brothers, there is an undeniable air of resemblance. Jaime, aged 13, also plays Tennis. And the specialized press evokes similarities in their racket shots. If you too want to form your opinion on the question, go to Tarbes, to the Petits As tournament, where Carlos’ younger brother is announced.
Eight years separate them. And Jaime Alcaraz is undeniably following in the footsteps of his brother, world tennis star. At the end of July 2023, the last of the siblings won a round of a tournament sponsored by Rafael Nadal, like Carlos six years earlier. The following month, he was crowned Spanish under-12 champion with his club Murcia.
In mid-January 2025, Jaime will launch his tennis season by joining the Petits As de Tarbes. The young Spanish player benefited from an invitation to compete in the international qualifications of the famous tournament which sees champion seeds from 45 countries compete. Ranked 152nd in the world in the category of boys aged 14 and under, Jaime Alcaraz is once again following in the footsteps of his big brother.

Carlos Alcaraz made two appearances at Tarbes. The first was in 2016. The Spaniard was then eliminated in the second round. He returned the following year and reached the round of 16. Like his younger brother today, Carlos was 13 years old.
Jaime Alcaraz, entered in the qualifications which will take place on January 18 and 19, 2025, is not yet one of the best foreign players expected in Tarbes. Among the headliners of this 43rd edition of Petits As, there is Rafael Pagonis, currently number 1 in Tennis Europe. The young Greek player had already come to Tarbes in 2024.

The Russian, Nikita Berdin and the Franco-Japanese, Lyoma Hotelier will also be there, in the boys’ final draw whose matches will begin on Monday January 20. In the French camp, the vintage also looks promising. Note, among the girls, the participations of Capucine Dournes from Gard and Ambre Le Prunenec from Haute-Garonne.
“Tarbes is still the most important international stage for us, as for everyone else. To find out if the young people have progressed, to measure their level of play compared to the best foreigners. At Les Petits As, all the best in the world are there, always. It is therefore an excellent cursor to know where we are and what areas for improvement there are.“, according to the head of 14 and under at the French Tennis Federation.
The girls’ and boys’ finals will be played on Sunday January 26, 2025, at the Parc des Expositions in Tarbes.
