Next up for the Seagulls is a trip to Old Trafford on Sunday to face Manchester United.

“I am very happy [with the win]. It’s a good atmosphere when they leave,” Rutter told TNT Sports.

“I think it was important for the team to win today. Christmas was a difficult time. We are happy and, for confidence, that’s good.

“It was good [to score]but I was a little scared because the VAR looked at it.

“When a player arrives in a new team, it’s difficult to adapt. I have the chance to play a lot and the manager gives me confidence.

“We try to do our best. We have to work hard and we are now ready for Manchester United.
