PREMATCH
Having defeated Utah HC 5 to 3 in its most recent outing, the Habs lost 2 to 1 in a shootout at the Bell Center in front of their rivals of the day on Saturday. This time, head instructor Martin St-Louis will rely on Dobes to defend the net. Samuel Montembeault played the last two games for his team, who will have a busy weekend hosting the Leafs and the New York Rangers on Saturday and Sunday. Dobes will be looking for a fourth victory in as many career starts.
“It’s part of the decisions to be made. We try to position the team so that it has energy. And the group’s current behavior helps in this sense. We can focus on managing energy instead of working on areas to improve, St-Louis told the media. When you play a smart match, you spend less for nothing. […]»
Since Saturday’s game, the Stars have lost to the Ottawa Senators and defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs. They are one point behind the Minnesota Wild and second in the National League Central, while holding two games in hand.
“It’s cooler [à la mémoire]. We have good examples on the videos and on the preparation side, it’s a little easier,” indicated the CH coach, regarding this second clash in less than a week against the same opponent.

Having not held morning training, the CH must make do without Emil Heineman, hit by a vehicle while he was walking in the streets. His absence is estimated at 3-4 weeks and for the moment, the organization has not made a recall from the Laval Rocket. Michael Pezzetta returned to action on Tuesday and was once again ineffective.
In the Texan clan, forward Roope Hintz suffered an upper body injury on Tuesday and withdrew from the match against CH. Jake Oettinger will find himself in front of the Stars cage.
