Neymar has been sidelined for a year and four days following knee surgery and returned to the field in October last year.
With speculation surrounding his possible departure from Arab football, where he plays for Al-Hilal, Neymar may not be registered for the national championship. This was suggested by the team’s coach, Jorge Jesus, during a press conference on Thursday. The former Flamengo coach added that the Brazilian star is having difficulty keeping up with the rest of the squad.
“It’s not easy. He (Neymar) is coming back from an injury which kept him away from the field. Just when he was close to his return, he got injured again. He is a player who leaves no one in doubt; it is world class. But the truth is that physically he couldn’t keep up with the team,” Jesus said.
