Another Soccer superstar could end up in Major League Soccer (MLS), as the Chicago Fire have reportedly initiated negotiations with Neymar.
Renowned GiveMeSport journalist Tom Bogert reported Thursday that the Illinois club would seek to acquire the 32-year-old forward this winter. The Brazilian has been playing with Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia since 2023.

The Fire are reportedly looking to emulate Inter Miami CF by offering Neymar a contract similar to that of Lionel Messi. The latter would earn a salary of approximately $20 million per year, in addition to receiving sponsorship bonuses.
-Al-Hilal gave Neymar the moon by giving him a reported salary of 100 million euros, or just under CA$150 million. Saudi Arabia would, however, like to keep the former FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain player in the country, in particular to make him an ambassador for the 2034 World Cup.
The Fire would not be the only club in negotiations for Neymar, but the only one in MLS, since it holds his discovery rights.
Often injured, the popular player has only played seven games since his arrival with Al-Hilal.
