Riolo attacks Doué and Barcola after Espaly-PSG

Saint-Germain battled to overcome the valiant Espaly team (N3) this Wednesday during the round of 16 of the Coupe de (4-2). Both starters and scorers, Bradley Barcola and Désiré Doué drew the wrath of Daniel Riolo. The After Foot editorialist did not like their match or their behavior.

At the end of the suspense, and a few minutes before a potential penalty shootout, PSG managed to make the difference to beat Espaly (4-2) in the round of 16 of the Coupe de France. A painful success against a National 3 team where the team aligned by Luis Enrique did not completely convince. In particular Bradley Barcola despite his saving goal which allowed the Ile-de-France club to avoid the trap. Very demanding with him, Daniel Riolo revealed a lot about him this Wednesday.

“I’m sorry but it’s been a while since I last talked about it, so maybe we won’t talk about the fixation. It must have been a month since I last mentioned his name,” blurted the journalist in the showAfter Foot on RMC. “So we can calmly say that Barcola is terrible this Wednesday? And that his ball controls and that everything he has been doing for a very long time now is very bad? I would even say, since the start of the season outside small matches, since he enjoyed small matches.”

“Worrying things”

Questioned in the mixed zone after the match, Bradley Barcola himself admitted that he was not in the best period of his life on the pitch. Brilliant at the start of the season, the 22-year-old winger has suffered a little more in recent months. Before his goal against Espaly, the French international remained for more than two months without being decisive (goal or assist) in all competitions. It remains to be seen whether this first achievement in 2025 will restore his confidence and allow him to regain the form of the first days of Ligue 1 where he flew through the debates with ten pawns and two offerings.

Unlike Bradley Barcola, Désiré Doué has been going through a good period with PSG since mid-December. Aligned from the start on the right wing this Wednesday, the young French talent (19 years old) struggled to shine on the pitch at the Marcel-Michelin stadium in Clermont against Espaly. Also a scorer, shortly after the hour mark, he annoyed Daniel Riolo with his attitude.

“Désiré Doué, whom I have congratulated a lot recently for his initiative and his character, this Wednesday he showed me some worrying things,” regretted the editorialist of theAfter Foot. “A guy being cocky against a small team is never a good sign.”

Before continuing his analysis on the body language of the former Stade Rennais player: “He was extremely pretentious, he played pretentious. He thought he was the Neymar of Neymar’s worst moments. Like I’m going to dribble three guys , I’m going to show them to these kids, to these peasants from National 3… If he has this problem, then he won’t be the player that I hope he will be one day because I find him very qualities. But what he showed me this Wednesday if I am Luis Enrique, and I am not, I take it and we make a little speech of humility.
