Cables: Komax takes a 5% stake in Chinese E-Plus

Komax is a Swiss manufacturer of automated and intelligent processing solutions for the cable industry. Komax is present in America, Europe (notably in ) and Asia. The group is strengthening its position in this region by investing 5% in the Chinese E-Plus Technology, “the largest provider of digital smart factory solutions for the wire processing industry” of the country.

Headquartered in Changchun (northeast China), the company was founded in 2015 and has more than 200 employees who mainly work in software development. E-Plus develops and markets Manufacturing Execution System (MES) “most used in China” for the production of cable harnesses. Wire harness manufacturers use MES to monitor, control, optimize and trace their production processes, whether they use cable processing machines from Komax and/or other suppliers. In addition to MES, E-Plus offers interactive wire harness assembly boards as well as other solutions for a digital smart factory. “The partnership with E-Plus will allow us to continue to implement our strategy in China and improve our capabilities in the area of smart factory solutions”explained Tobias Rölz, Executive Vice President of Market and Digital Services at Swiss. In 2024, the specialist in automated wire machining had already strengthened its position in China by acquiring a majority stake in Hosver, “China’s leading manufacturer of high voltage cable processing machines”.

The Swiss company, which celebrates its fiftieth anniversary in 2025, targets the automotive (75% of its turnover), aerospace, railway, industrial and infrastructure sectors.
