Ja Morant challenged Victor Wembanyama on several occasions and he was able to lead the Memphis Grizzlies to a 129-115 victory against the San Antonio Spurs on Wednesday night.
The watchword among the Grizzlies at the start of the match seemed to attack the French giant. Morant passed the ball just over Wembanyama to set the tone for the game. He came back to charge a little later this time with a powerful dunk, but this basket did not count as the official had stopped the game.
Canadian Zach Edey also joined the party by scoring a dunk against Wembanyama.
Being so often called upon, it was not surprising to see the Spurs star player obtain his share of success on defense. He made eight blocks in the game, all in the first half. He finished the game with 13 points and 12 rebounds.
For his part, Morant had 21 points and 12 assists. Edey was limited to six points and five rebounds.
