The 19th round of Serie A matches are now complete following Inter’s 2-2 draw with Bologna at the San Siro on Tuesday evening. Here’s how things have changed in the league standings after the midweek mini-tour of matches.

The 19th round of Serie A started on January 4 and strangely ended after the end of week 20. Three matches (Como-Milan, Atalanta-Juventus and Inter-Bologna) were postponed and rearranged due to the Supercoppa Italiana in Saudi Arabia. at the beginning of the month.

However, weeks 19 and 20 are now over and even though they haven’t played, Napoli have received a boost in their Serie A title race.

Serie A Week 19 Recap

Inter were held to a 2-2 draw at home to Bologna on Wednesday evening. The visitors took an early lead, but a dominant first-half Inter side fought back through Denzel Dumfries and Lautaro Martinez to take the lead before half-time. However, a second half effort from Emil Holm saw the teams finish the match tied at 2-2.

The result means Inter are still in second place: it was impossible for them to overtake Napoli tonight. The Nerazzurri are three points off the lead with a game in hand, but a win against Bologna would have meant the ball remained in their court.

Juventus were also held to a 1-1 draw in the midweek round of matches. This was draw number 13 of the Serie A season for Thiago Motta and his team out of a total of 20 matches played.

The result leaves the Bianconeri in fifth place, two behind Lazio in the Champions League places and 13 behind Napoli at the top of the table.

Milan were the only team to record a victory in the midweek matches, securing a 2-1 win over Como in Sergio Conceicao’s second league match.

In his four matches in the Rossoneri dugout, Conceicao had to come from behind three times, which also happened against Juventus and Inter in the Supercoppa Italiana.

Milan sit in seventh place with 31 points from 19 matches, but they have a game in hand against every team above them except Inter.
