When is Daredevil: Born Again, the next Marvel series, released on Disney+?

Matt Murdock is soon back to play a trick on Wilson Fisk: Daredevil : Born Again is highly anticipated by Marvel fans. The series should breathe new life into this famous lawyer from Hell’s Kitchen, after a first dedicated series in 2015. What exactly do we know about this new Marvel Studios production?

After months of waiting, Disney+ has finally released a trailer for season 1 of Daredevil : Born Again. These very first images announce a return of the superhero to Hell’s Kitchen in a rather dark, bloody and violent atmosphere.

When comes out Daredevil : Born Again ?

The Marvel series is expected for March 5, 2025on the Disney+ streaming platform, in France.

Daredevil : Born Again was originally scheduled for release in 2024, but production was delayed following last year’s Hollywood writers’ and actors’ strike to June 2023. Filming was then chaotic, as October 2023, Daredevil : Born Again has undergone a creative overhaul, now creating more ties to the 2015 series and a new showrunner at the helm: Dario Scardapane, one of the authors of The Punisher.

How many episodes are planned for this new Marvel series?

9 episodes will make up the first season of Daredevil : Born Againat the rate of one new one per week. We still don’t know their length, but we can easily bet on episodes of around 50 minutes, the usual format for Marvel drama series.

A second season, of 9 episodes, has already been ordered. For the moment, 18 episodes of Daredevil : Born Again are therefore planned. These should have constituted a single season, but delays in the series pushed Marvel Studios to divide the whole thing into two parts.

Charlie Cox, Jon Bernthal, Deborah Ann Woll… Who returns to the cast of Daredevil : Born Again ?

The main actors and actresses of the series Daredevil from 2015 will reprise their roles for this new production:

• Charlie Cox sera Matt Murdock/Daredevil ;
• Vincent D’Onofrio will take on the costume of Wilson Fisk/Kingpin;
• Jon Bernthal will reprise the role of Frank Castle/Punisher;
• Deborah Ann Woll will play Karen Page, a friend and colleague of Murdoch’s, beloved by fans;
• Elden Henson will play Foggy, Murdoch’s best friend;
• Wilson Bethel will play Benjamin ‘Dex’ Poindexter, a former FBI agent who became one of Daredevil and Fisk’s enemies;
• Ayelet Zurer will reprise the role of Vanessa Marianna-Fisk, Wilson Fisk’s wife.

Newcomers will join this already prestigious cast:

• Margarita Levieva (The Acolyte) will be Heather Glenn, Matt Murdock’s love interest;
• Michael Gandolfini (The Deuce) will be Daniel Blade;
• Arty Froushan (House of the Dragon) will be Buck Cashman, a government agent by day and masked vigilante by night;
• Kamar de los Reyes (Sleepy Hollow) sera Hector Ayala / White Tiger.

Daredevil : Born Again will it feature a new Daredevil?

Little has been revealed regarding the plot of Daredevil : Born Againwhich oscillated between the notions of sequence and reboot throughout its production. We simply know that the masked and blind vigilante, who acts at night, will meet the Punisher again. He will confront the political ambitions of Wilson Fisk, another well-known antagonist of the Marvel universe, who recently appeared in the series Echo.

Note that Daredevil : Born Again will be integrated into Marvel’s phase 5 and a new character will make his debut: that of White Tiger, or Hector Ayala. This former FBI agent developed mysterious powers, such as extraordinary endurance and agility, thanks to amulets. His formidable skills in martial arts, already seen in comics linked to Daredevilcould therefore be of great help to the masked vigilante (or not).

What is the connection between the two series? Daredevil et Daredevil : Born Again ?

In 2015, a first series dedicated to Daredevil was released, at the time on Netflix. This lasted for three seasons, until 2018. The original cast will return in Daredevil : Born Againand the fight scenes in sequence shots, which marked the aesthetic of Daredevilwill also be there.

Daredevil : Born Again is she season 4 of Daredevil or the continuation of Marvel’s Echo ?

Daredevil : Born Again sera a priori a reboot and not a season 4: this means that the story will not be a continuation of the 2015 series, but will be new. This new variation around the superhero should therefore take up the elements of Daredevilwith a more violent and above all more political turn. At the end of Marvel’s Echothe antagonist Wilson Fisk thus announced his candidacy for the post of mayor of New York.
