New gold medal for the French team during the Winter Universiade in Turin with the coronation of Haut-Alpine Emy Charbonnier in alpine combined. Haut-Savoyard Louison Accambray won bronze. No medal for the cross-country skiers.
First day of competition for alpine skiing at the Turin Universiade this Wednesday in Bardonecchia and already a first title for the French. Gold in the alpine combined goes to Emy Charbonnier. Versatile, the Haut-Alpine, in the lead after the morning super-G, finished the job during the slalom round (3e time), to take the title ahead of the Swede Sophie Nyberg (+ 0”60). The Haut-Savoyarde of La Clusaz Louison Accambray also climbed onto the podium (3e at 0”78), just ahead of Marjolaine Ollier (+ 2”35). Cloé Merloz takes 11e place.
The men will be on the track this Thursday in Bardonecchia to also compete in the alpine combined.

Cross-country skiing also opened its competition this Wednesday in Pragelato with an individual 10 km freestyle. The French students remain at the foot of the podium with Felix Caillot (5e), France Pignot (4e), Julie Marciniak (5the) and Félicie Chappaz (7e).
